Which painting robot? Five questions.

Reach, tooling weight, certificate, booth and mounting decide the arm; paint, colour change and cycle time decide the rest of the cell. This selector does the first half in a minute and hands the second half to the survey. Figures come from the manufacturers' datasheets and certificates; nothing here is a quotation.

1 · Farthest point to paint from where the robot can stand under 1.5 m — small parts, hanging line 1.5–2.0 m — panels, housings, wheels 2.0–2.5 m — bumpers, doors, cabinets 2.5–3.0 m — car body sides, large frames over 3.0 m — bus, truck cab, long parts

2 · Weight at the wrist: gun or bell plus hoses and colour-change block up to 5 kg — air gun, few hoses 5–8 kg — electrostatic gun with block 8–12 kg — rotary bell or two guns 12–16 kg — bell with in-arm colour change and 2K block

3 · Certificate your safety engineer will accept ATEX — EU-aligned site (EU, Türkiye, Gulf EPC projects) GB/T 3836 — Russia, EAEU, Central Asia, China Either — tell me both

4 · The booth Dedicated robot booth or new line Shared with manual sprayers most of the day

5 · Mounting Floor or pedestal Wall or angle bracket Inverted, on a gantry or booth roof
