Grinding, polishing and deburring

Force-controlled surface finishing cells: belt, wheel, disc and compliant tools, with dust handling designed in.

Not sure which robot this needs?

Where it is used

Castings, forgings, sanitary ware, cookware, faucets, aluminium profiles, welded frames — deburring, weld dressing, polishing to a defined roughness.

Robots we supply for it

  • EFORT ER six-axis
  • Moka MR series
  • Force-control units and compliant tooling

Brands are supplied, not represented. Figures appear only where we hold the datasheet; see the products page for the model lists.

Typical configuration

  1. Six-axis robot, floor or inverted mount
  2. Belt grinder, polishing wheel or spindle stations; tool changer where several media are needed
  3. Force-control flange or compliant tool holder
  4. Dust extraction and enclosure; wet grinding where sparks are a risk
  5. Part fixture or robot-held part with regrip station

Pre-integration and factory acceptance test

The cell is assembled, wired and run in our workshop in Wuhu before it is crated. For this workstation type the FAT covers:

  • Finishing program run on customer samples; surface measured and photographed
  • Tool wear compensation demonstrated over a batch
  • Cycle time measured

You witness it on a video call or in person; the report with measured figures, photos and video ships in the technical package. How pre-integration works →

Questions we are asked about this cell

Robot holds the part or the tool?

Small parts with several faces: the robot holds the part and moves it across fixed stations. Large or heavy parts: the robot holds the tool. The survey asks for weight and size so this is decided before layout.

Specify this cell in one sitting

The survey for this workstation type has 10 sections and about 44 questions — most are tick boxes. Online it saves as you type and gives you a reference number; the Word file is the same survey for e-mail.

Sections: Customer Basic Information · Application Requirements · Production Data & Site Data · Workpiece Information · Samples & Drawings · Program Requirements · Site Utility & Installation Conditions · Commercial & Service Requirements · Supplementary Materials & Attachments Required · Other Remarks

Fill in the survey online →   Download the Word file (.docx)

Or skip the wait: order the engineered proposal (S1) from USD 900 — credited in full against the equipment, refunded if the cell cannot meet your cycle time.

Send drawings and photos to sales@livespower.com with the reference number. No price is quoted before the part, the specification and the cycle time are known.
