A second model at the same plant — 54 fixture sets, 20 stations, inspected in China before shipment
The plant that bought the tooling package above returned about eighteen months later for a compact electric car: 20 stations, around 54 fixture sets, six of them robot welding stations, with nine hangers, four manual rotary fixtures and six station-level control conversions. Payment ran over six milestones, one of them tied to completing the first round of equipment inspection in China — the plant signs the inspection off before anything ships. Contracted February 2026, shipped in containers in August 2026.
The problem the customer brought
A second model on the same shop floor, with the same constraint as the first: the robots and welding equipment were already there and were not the problem.
Workpiece
Compact electric car body in white — engine compartment sub-assemblies OP10 to OP50, middle floor sub-assemblies, rear frame cross-members and sub-assemblies, threshold side members, underbody, body-side and main framing.
Robots
None supplied. Six stations were arranged as robot welding stations around the plant's own robots.
Process and equipment
About 54 welding and assembly fixture sets over stations SB01–SB20, with nine hangers for sub-assembly transfer, four manual rotary fixtures so one operator can weld both sides without re-fixturing, and six station-level electrical control conversions. Electric hoists, tracks and steel structure stayed with the plant.
Pre-integration and factory acceptance test
First round of equipment inspection carried out in China with the plant's sign-off, written into the payment schedule as a milestone. Nothing loaded until it was signed.
Delivery and site work
FOB in full containers to a Baltic port, with customs package, packing data and booking documents issued by us.
Commercial terms
Six payment milestones tied to order, inspection in China, delivery preparation, arrival, installation and final acceptance. Prices are not published.
Shipping terms on current projects: EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP. Customer names, plant locations and prices are not published.
Result
Delivered — shipped August 2026. The repeat order from the same plant is the part of this project worth reading.
What we do differently because of this project
An inspection round in China is now proposed as a payment milestone on every body-shop package, not offered as a courtesy. It costs a week and it removes the argument that otherwise happens on the customer's floor.

Customer names, plant identification and location watermarks are removed. Captions state where an image is a general illustration rather than this customer's plant.
