Tram-frame arc-welding cells — two single-robot stations with positioners (engineered proposal)
Two single-robot arc-welding stations for tram frame sub-assemblies: EFORT ARC12-2000 and ARC12-1400 with MIG/MAG in 18 % CO₂ + Ar, 500 A water-cooled pulse sources, a twin-column headstock–tailstock positioner and a two-axis P-type positioner. Not concluded — 18 open technical questions were never answered.
The problem the customer brought
Not enough skilled operators, a manual process that was hard to manage, and finish quality that was hard to control.
Workpiece
Tram frame sub-assemblies: seven small parts of 0.5–17 kg at 4,700 pieces a year, and medium parts up to 2,520 mm and 45.9 kg at 2,600 a year.
Robots
EFORT ARC12-2000 and ARC12-1400, one per station.
Process and equipment
MIG/MAG with 18 % CO₂ + Ar and Ø0.8–1.6 mm wire; 500 A water-cooled pulse power sources; a twin-column headstock–tailstock positioner and a two-axis P-type positioner; TERMA water-cooled torches and cleaning stations.
Commercial terms
Proposal stage.
Shipping terms on current projects: EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP. Customer names, plant locations and prices are not published.
How it ended
Not concluded — 18 open questions on cycle time, 3D data and the weld list stayed unanswered.
What we do differently because of this project
Every deviation from the customer's technical specification — here a light curtain instead of the specified safety mat and enable button — is written out in the compliance table and confirmed in writing, never marked simply "compliant".
