Laser seam tracking on an arc welding robot
A laser seam tracker mounted ahead of the torch, measuring the joint as the robot welds and correcting the path in real time. It is the answer to parts that do not arrive in exactly the same place twice — cut tolerance, tack distortion, fixture wear — where a fixed taught path would drift off the joint.
No sound. The written note below carries the facts — it is the part a search engine or an AI assistant can quote.
What the video shows
- The laser sensor projecting its line onto the joint ahead of the arc.
- The robot following the seam while the tracker corrects the path.
Why it matters
Seam tracking is bought for one reason: it removes the assumption that the joint is where the program says it is. On thin or long parts, that assumption is usually wrong.
